Yesterday afternoon she called me while I was out running errands. It was about thirty minutes before I was supposed to pick up Maryn from Preschool. She asked if I wanted to drive up to Tennessee to go to the Aquarium in Chattanooga with her, Nick, and the boys. We decided the sooner we hit the road the better, so the plan was for her to come pick me up from my house and then we all get Maryn together and hit the road. This is where I had that internal 'Sarah Struggle'. I wasn't even home yet, I was out running errands, the kids had not had lunch or a nap, I was not planning on leaving the state that day and we were going to pick up and make this happen in thirty minutes? My first inclination was "No, I needed a plan before taking a day trip." But then I thought "Sarah, roll with it and don't be such a stick in the mud!" So I raced home, threw some stuff together and we all went to go pick up Maryn from school and surprise her with a fun, impromptu day trip. I'm glad I didn't overthink it, because we ended up really having a great day.
Laura getting giggles out of Max again. That kid really is too stinkin' cute!
They even had butterfly gardens at the Aquarium! It was so cool seeing so many beautiful butterflies fluttering around!
Brynna checking all of them out!
Have you hugged a penguin today?
Thanks for such a fun, spontaneous day Nick and Laura!
